Abstract
The concept of "organizational culture" has become increasingly popular as a way of understanding organizations and organizational change. In this paper I discuss the concept, and how it might be applied to analysis and design of information systems providing an enlarged understanding of the organization and the work processes. The cultural perspective is described in terms of theoretical and methodological issues in relation to an application of the perspective in surveys. Results from applying the cultural perspective in a project are described and experiences are discussed in relation to The University Case described in this book.
